Rob,

I think you are right about US Banks.  Canadian coins are about the only 
foreign currency they ever see.  

Last summer my wife found that the local branch bank was able to get foreign 
currencies so she ordered a couple of hundred dollars in DM & Swiss Francs 
for our daughter's high school band trip.  She got home and found a 10X 
error.  Somebody at the main bank had sent 2000 DM instead of 200 and only 
charged her for 200 DM.  

Our banks and bank clerks are clueless.
