If I recall corectly, you just have to stick the CD
you are upgrading from into the drive, or enter the
serial number for the last verion. I bought PS 7 and
use that CD for all upgrades so far.

THe laptop sounds nice - I bought a similar Toshiba
six months ago. It's great, but not as fast as my
older Athlon X64 dual core system with Raptor drives.
I think the drive speed makes a big different, as does
the memory (the desktop has 3 gigs vs 2.)  

Since my last laptop was a Pentium I 166mhz with 144
megs of ram - I really like the new machine!
