I guess I'm bottom feeding, but I sell bagged, signed,
single mat prints for $35 for 11x14 and $50 for 16x20
(that's the matted size - 8x10 and 11x14 (roughly)
prints in each.)

Framed at $75 for 11x14 and $125 for 16x20 - simple
black rail framing.

All are signed, no limited editions. I've been out of
the game for a year or so (starting up again this
fall) but these were for local art fairs, clear bagged
prints in bins. I went for a large variety of prints
and would stock ~250 unique images. On a good day I
could move a few dozen prints, plus lots of note cards
at $3 a pop.

I've sold large (huge) prints in local gallery shows
for as much as $1200 - exquisitely framed and
matted(which means - not done by me.)

My prices are pretty much in line with what I see
locally. These are ink jet prints - hand pulled photos
command a higher price locally - but probably not
enough more to cover the additional cost and time it
takes to produce them.

The economics of selling prints are a bear. Every
print that is sold has to 1) pay for itself in terms
of materials, 2) pay the gallery's share or cover the
entrance fee to the art fair, 3) pay for the time it
took to shoot, adjust, and prep the image, 4) pay for
the prints that don't sell, and 5) pay for production
waste - the miscut mats, gummed up prints, stuff
stolen when your back is turned. And that's not even
tagging the cost of photo gear, insurance, and other
over head to it. #4 is the toughest to figure out -
because on one hand your inventory is an asset, but on
the other as it gets older, it eventually becomes a
liability.
