Marnie, You did well. As absolutely beautiful as Yosemite's geology is, it's not my favorite fall destination. I plan to do Highway 395, again, in the next week or so. My choice for the best fall color possibilities in California. I check Carol Leigh's site each spring and fall and am including the link, as I believe you live in the Walnut Creek area.
