Heh. Normally, no, California doesn't get that colorful in the Fall.

We have mainly Oaks where I live. We get colorful, but it's mostly
non-native trees. Though there are a few native trees that turn but our
colorful fall
is short and not like back East.

Yosemite, of course, is at a high elevation and that is why it gets strong
Fall color in the valley area (it had a lot of color last October and I bet it
does this year as well.) That is also why Jack directed me to a page, the
lower Sierra Nevadas also get fairly colorful in the fall, the higher
elevation
again.

I know you were kidding... but not entirely.

Thanks for looking.

=============

Marnie,
That's a pretty shot, especially because of the light.
Yosemite isn't supposed to have fall colors.
They say Park Rangers send folks 2,000 miles east.
...Too many pine trees is what I heard.
Regards,  Bob S.
