Actually, if you wait long enough, you can get a usable medium format projector on eBay for a reasonable price. Anyway mine was $35, and I thought that pretty reasonable. Just don't expect something as sophisticated as a high-end Kodak Carousel.
Go look through the projecto discussions on the Medium Format site put together by Bob whatshizname . . . When looking at a 645 transparency on a light table or on the wall, the color and detail just reach out and grab you. If only I could find a medium format scanner for a reasonable price . . .
