It is of GREAT interest. It would have been even more help, if I'd known 
it at the time. I did have it set to "Grip First" in the menu. Don't 
remember if I got that idea here or from one of the magazine reviews I read.

What I expected was it would show "half" in the window after the first 
battery ran down, and would switch to the other battery.

That makes sense doesn't it?

So, evidently I had one charged battery and one depleted battery and 
could have continued shooting if I'd only known.

Except that, thinking back, I turned it off and back on and was only 
able to get one more shot before it shut down again.
