I can't comment on anything except your idea of using the scanner to proof B&W negatives, which is what I do. It has some disadvantages over a contact sheet (you can't judge the exposure of one negative as compared to another very well) but I find they're far outweighed by the advantages. By scanning my negatives I can judge which ones are worth printing and by working with the contrast and brightness settings in photoshop I can work out a great deal of what needs to be done in the darkroom. I find it has *drastically* cut down the amount of time I need to spend in the darkroom to get a good print (and since I pay by the hour for darkroom time, this is a real money saver). -- Mark Roberts www.robertstech.com - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List.
