That was the Avrocar.

The Arrow (CF-105) was a delta wing interceptor similar to Convair's
F-102 Delta Dagger and F-106 Delta Dart (aka F-102B) aircraft for the USAF.

The F-102, XF-103, CF-105, XF-108 were developed at the same time, and
the three aircraft seem to have been part of a single joint development
program.

Avro basically got screwed.

But Republic Aviation (XF-103) and North American Aviation(XF-108) got
screwed as well, so you have one Canadian company and two US companies
getting the shaft.
