Yes I experienced the same.
I use it as a normal despite the fact it is more a small tele.
It is defenitely a very nice (and very cheap) portrait Tele.

Kinda like a 77mm limited on a 35mm I suppose (never tried a limited,
unfortunately so the comparison is pure theory).
