Pentax K10D, DA* 50-135/2.8 @ 123mm ISO 400, 1/180 sec @ f/5.6 http://www.daytonphoto.com/PAW/bkd_5153.htm -- Best regards, Bruce --------------------- I am going to do a real critique, as some have asked for because I am intrigued. Now, Bruce this is me, and you know me, and where I am photographically. And you know my comments tend toward the artistic, not the photographic. Others can tell you about exposure and whatever. I find both your wall photos interesting because it's a departure for you. And glad to see you trying. My reaction is you are getting there but not quite there. This one borders on it. I think if it was cropped and the contrast and saturation were pumped up a tad, it would come close. You've isolated the interesting graphic elements on the wall, but, huh, how to put it, you haven't made them punch, you haven't isolated them enough in the frame itself. Because of your placement here in the frame, to do so you probably have to sacrifice something. On this kind of thing, everything in the frame and the edges of the frame matter. I've thought of trying this sort of thing too. Can't be on this list this long, seeing Godfrey's stuff, without thinking about it. :-) The other one looking down the wall is interesting, but somehow, to me, the angle isn't quite right. Would have been better, in my humble opinion, if the angle was back a little from the wall, not quite so on the eye line, so more of the peeling could be seen. Can't describe it better, I am not good about saying what degree of angle. Again, you have too much in that frame, that is, if what you want is more of just the graphic elements. Also there is a problem of focus and DOF -- where to put it, seems a bit off, like maybe the front peel should be in focus or more of it. It's such a great wall, that if you still have access I'd go back and try and try again. Take everything I said with a big grain of salt. Those are just MY reactions. Others reactions would/will be different. YMMV. HTH, Marnie aka Doe :-) And I am sort of tired, and would probably put it in different words on another day. --------------------------------------------- Warning: I am now filtering my email, so you may be censored. ************************************** See what's new at http://www.aol.com -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
