Film doesn't need cleaning when taking the picture, but it sure  
becomes a mess after being pumped through a bunch of processing  
machines by monkeys at the lab. Of course, cameras still need  
cleaning occasionally ... Note the lovely hair at the right side of

Sensors need occasional cleaning, but once an image is captured, it  
never gets dirty.
