Some folks I shoot with occasionally have the Sigma and are happy with it. The biggest problem is that Sigma's QC is extremely variable ... two out of three of them exchanged the lens at least once before they got a good one.
Pentax lenses are much more consistent. I haven't worked with either. From what I've seen, however, the Pentax 12-24 produces excellent results consistently, and I've seen some good results with the Sigma too. I stick with Pentax lenses for the K10D. I'm not entirely sure why you'd want both the 12-24mm and the 14mm however. Although, to be honest, I could have used that extra little bit of FoV for yesterday's shooting in the Alcatraz prison! It's amazing to me when a 14mm ultrawide begins to feel too tight ...
