Cuckoldry has remained popular in the land of Shakespeare (depending
on whether you are cuckolding or being cuckolded, I suppose). 

I don't know that the cuckold sign has ever been widely used here. It
may have been, but I've always thought of it as a continental sign
(the index finger and the pinky raised, the others lowered).
