Just watched part one of a six-part documentary series called The Genius of Photography. If you get the chance (BBC World?) do try and watch it. I would say that it's one of the best and most important television documentaries about the medium in recent years, if not for some time. Plenty of international involvement and a superb array of imagery - the opening sequence in itself is enough to take the breath away.
