The shot of the redheaded woodpecker is a great example of why I won't 
use mirror lenses.  The bird and background are pretty nice, but the 
tree ruins the shot.  ugh.  I guess if you can minimize OOF highlights 
the lenses can be useful.  Certainly more portable than my 500/4, but 
I'm happy to lug around my 8lb lens.
