Keep camera and lenses in a shoulder bag. It will act as a thermal buffer. Keep them in the bag unless you're using them. When you go indoors, let the bag sit a few minutes before opening it, particularly if it is humid indoors or if outside temperatures are sub-zero or it was very wet.
Unless you go outdoors and have the camera and lenses out for long enough to completely and thoroughly cold-soak in sub-freezing temperatures, you should have no problems. This is exactly what I did on my trip around the US last year, with days and nights of temperatures in the bitter 0-15 F range. A few minutes exposure to very cold temperatures will not make any difference at all.
