I do believe it is out of line. I had one of this style body back in the early 50's and the lens was designed to be pulled out to this position from being hard against the mount - you kept pulling and then rotated it to engage a breech type lock on the end of the barrel which engaged in a socket on the back of the lens mounting flange.
This kept the lens barrel locked in place and prevented sag like this.
