I hadn't seen exactly these rumors before. However 14mp is getting into the resolution medium speed perfectly exposed 35mm film is capable of recording, and a heck of a lot better than most 35mm film actually does record. Pentax digital has more or less come of age. Now if Pentax can manage to shoehorn 24mp, (doubling the linear resolution of the 6mp cameras), onto a chip with relatively low noise, we'll have reached the point where an upgrade from the *ist D and Ds is worthwhile leaving aside AS technology. (There that should start an argument).
