My DSL seems to be around 320Kb (30kB/s) download.  Upload varies -
I've seen as slow as 128Kb, and as fast as 400Kb.

But I've now got cable, including a 6Mb internet service.  I just
need to find the time to set it up.  Maybe this weekend...
