Thanks for the suggestions. I've never had a problem before, and I haven't changed mail servers. I did update the Opsys but that shouldn't have changed my mail settings. I did review my preferences and noticed that the box for "rich text" was checked. I changed it to plain text, and I'll try again. Perhaps that setting was somehow altered.
