You need to set a custom function to use M and earlier lenses on any
of the Pentax DSLR. What you do is set the 'Use Aperture Ring' CF to
Permitted.

I've successfully used M lenses on the D, DS and K100D (Haven't had a
chance to try any on my K10D yet, but I've used Screwmount lenses).
