Thanks Godfrey.

Actually the blown highlights are a result of post processing.  The histogram 
of the original image looks OK regarding highlights but the image had a strong 
red cast that I tried to correct.  Apparently I went too far......

I'll have another go at it and try to get the background white but not blown.
