Nice pictures, Charles. The A28/2.8 was my first Pentax lens. I had it in my hand a week before I owned a Pentax camera. It's not at it's best wide open, but by f/4-5.6 it is extremely sharp. But it has some of the very nicest bokeh of any Pentax lens I've owned, and that includes the Limiteds. I found it better than the FA31 and nearly on par with the FA43 in this respect. The advantage of the Limiteds, by comparison, is that they perform better wide open.
I sold the A28 eventually, just as I've sold nearly all my older lenses in exchange for the current series Limiteds. But I always think of the A28/2.8 fondly .. It was a near perfect match for the *ist DS as a "use all the time" wide-normal. godfrey On Dec 17, 2007, at 8:56 AM, Charles Robinson wrote: > [A28/2.8 ...] > ...People are going to ask for examples, so I'll pull out the first > one > (only web-sized but maybe that's good enough to get the idea): > > http://charles.robinsontwins.org/photos/2007/early_christmas/pages/ > page_5.html -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
