What Bill said re: release date. I have seen no speculation about a DA* 70-200 F2.8. It is not on either the official roadmap, or Pentax's internal version of the lens roadmap which extends through 2009. (Don't ask how I got a copy.) DA* 200 and 300 should come early next year. The DA* 200 F2.8 (based on the optics of the FA* 200 F2.8) was recently reviewed quite favorably in Chasseur d'Image (5 of 5 stars). So copies of the lens exist, and it is a good one.
