Thanks, Henk.
The lighting setup is fairly basic: Two(2) Lowel Pro
Lights lamped at 250W on stands through white
shoot-through umbrellas. Both are close to the
tabletop. I shoot on a white paper background and use
a custom made watch dummy covered in the same paper to
match the background.
I always manually set the white balance to the
background. ISO 100 is always used, in P mode, but I
tweak the exposure comp from anywhere between +.3~1.0
depending on the subject. Macro focus setting, of
course. The front of the camera is taped with black
paper tape to reduce reflections on dark watch dials
(the camera is silver). I also wear white cotton
gloves so that my skin doesn't create warm-toned
reflections in the precious metals of the watch cases.
