Went to the local State Wildlife Area, again, this AM. Brilliant day
and a nice break from recent, but much needed, rains.
A pro friend has gotten me into hawks at this point.
Am linking a crop from the middle of a shot of a Red-shouldered hawk
taken with my trusty FA 80~320. It's serving me well so far, but am
anxious to eventually get the DA* 60~250 which, I understand, MAY be
available in the spring of '08.
I have no serious intention of becoming 'a wildlife photographer'
accept on a very casual basis. If I were, I'd be thinking 600mm
minimum.
All this type of shot takes is being there and shaking the target
somewhere within the frame, little PS and cropping.
Does give one the feeling of a true "capture", however.

Jack
