Well Mike that is why I will only use the highest score fo r that printer. Also I am not going to be evaluating the picture but only the print quality. I will try to be as objective as possible, but I am only human. Also, remember this all developed from someone telling me I hadn't seen his prints when I stated that I have never seen a true photographic quality print from a consumer grade printer. I am still working on the exact definition of each grade, but I can tell you to rate an E (excellent) I will not be able to see any sign of the halftone screen with my naked eye. I kind of feel that is a requirement for a print to be truely considered photographic quality.
The point is that with one person evaluationing prints from different printers, hopefully you and the others who send me prints will be sending the best print you can make, we will get a usable value for comparing different printers to each other. Certainly you saying your printer is better than Joes tells us nothing, but my saying I think your print looks more like a photograph than the one made on Joe's printer, tells us something useful. But send your best picture, as in the event of a tie for the annual PDML Master Digital Printer awards, how well I like the picture will be the tie breaker <grin>. After all I am not a Vulcan. Also I would like to get my name out of the subject line for the same reason you didn't want yours there, plus if this proves a useful thing someone else may be responsible for doing it in the future. Therefore, I have changed it, again. --graywolf ------------------------------------------------- The optimist's cup is half full, The pessimist's is half empty, The wise man enjoys his drink. ----- Original Message ----- From: Mike Johnston <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Sunday, November 18, 2001 11:56 AM Subject: Re: The Tom Rittenhouse Challenge > Uh...Tom, that's a little like saying that if you like a photograph, it's a > measure of how good the paper is.
