Many of you I know are interested in Astronomy and Telescopes, so this may be of interest. An astronomy club friend was in a local Walmart and noticed a rack of small Meade backpacker telescopes on sale. They were marked down from 200.00 to 50.00. A small 60mm refractor on the ETX GOTO mount, all packaged with a backpack. He bought one and after testing out he called me to report what great performance it had for such a small scope and few bucks. The next day I decided to see if he could get me one as well. An hour later he called that he had one. I drove over and we checked it out together. It seemed to work as advertised so I took it home. I have not had it under the stars yet but on land it gives great views, very sharp and contrasty. Just two of the three eyepieces alone are worth the price I paid :-) Now I have to see if there is a way to attach a camera. Not for astronomy but for a 350mm telephoto lens, f/5.8.
