The plane of sharpest focus is about 1/2 to 3/4 inch closer to the viewer. It looks like her right eye is within the range of acceptable focus but not the plane of critical focus. At normal portrait shooting distances, (about 4 1/2 feet), DOF is about an 1 1/3 inches, if her right eye was the plain of critical focus her left eye would be in acceptable focus, it isn't..Her fingertips which appear to be in the same plane or just a bit, maybe 1/3 inch, behind the plane of her right eye, are a bit soft. Her lips are sharp as is the tip of her nose. When I'm tired this sort of thing bothers me more than when I'm rested, I guess my brain won't correct for it. Right now it's a lovely portrait, when I'm tired it makes my head hurt, well not hurt really, but I experience a mental frustration, kind of like i have an itch I can't scratch.
