Ok, worded as you you did, yes there is a difference.  My comment was 
more for the "Nice light, well done. I'd prefer a female model, though. 
:-)" and not based on the actual response ("I'd like it more if the 
model were female, but nice light.") to the images shown.  I still think 
subject matter is a valid criteria for critique.
