Sitting in a cafe waiting for my flight ... had to send a few
"rejiggered flights" notices out so. Amazing how much of a pain it
has been to get a flight itinerary that worked on short notice.

thanks for all the notes and thoughts, btw. I'l be wrapping them all
together in a small memorial book after this week is over. :-)

It's amazing what survives a big pounding. But I agree with John ...
the E-1 is built like a tank, FAR more rugged than any of the Pentax
DSLRs as far as I can make out and in line with other pro-class
bodies like the Nikon D1/D2/D3 and Canon 1D, etc.

I nearly bought one instead of the Pentax in 2004. In a way I'm glad
I didn't because I would never have found out about the Pentax
Limited lenses. That said, I'm really glad I have it now: it's simply
a great camera to work with. Oly's lenses are excellent too, although
I wish they had a couple more short, fast primes in the lens line. A
20mm f/2 would be ideal for my stuff.

I want a Pentax model of similar build and quality spec to do justice
to my favorite Pentax lenses!
