Marnie, I just now noticed this. You did well with the DoF without a
tripod. Under the circumstances, I think you made a good choice in
choosing to focus on the near ferns rather than the tree bark.
I've made many a redwood drive without bagging anything worth printing.
This year I'm going to visit Kruse Rhododendron St. Reserve on the
Sonoma Co. coast. According to what I've read, the bloom is usually
from April into summer. The mix of redwoods and rhododendrons has been
something I hope to accomplish some day. I don't know if there are any
serious redwoods in Kruse Reserve, but should be well worth the looking
sometime in late April or early May.
Have you ever been there, Marnie?

No, thanks for telling me about it, Jack.

It is extremely hard to get decent Redwood shots. One wouldn't think it
would be, but like Yosemite, it's a lot harder than it looks. So many trees to
focus on. :-) I think I've shown about two Redwood shots on list that people
have really liked. Well, I guess 2 out of whatever isn't bad. Heh.

Thanks for looking.

Marnie aka Doe :-)
