I'd vouch for it too. I used it extensively while touring Egypt, and have no complaints. BTW, the kit I took only included it and the 50-200, and I probably shot over 70% with the 16-45. Those monuments are damned big!
Both lens performed extremely well, as did the *istD. Still working through the pics, though...
