While I'm not what I'd call a 'fan' of Annie Leibovitz' genre of photographic work, I find this dis'sing of her work and production methods rather distasteful, smacking of envy. When y'all are as successful as she is, I'll be happy to learn how you made your great photographs. I feel I have a lot to learn from her control of lighting and the way she elicits the expressions, etc, from her subjects. I'm no big fan of the more heavily stylized work she's done, but remember that she's the shooter in those cases, not the art director.
There is an excellent documentary available on Annie Leibovitz (named the same) made in 1993 which covers her life and efforts up to that time. If perhaps you saw something like that, and read her book "A Photographers Life, 1990-2005", you would see more of whatever it is you like or at least understand her work better.
