I really like either of these combinations. My current travel kit is

FA 20-35 f/4
FA 50 f/1.4
FA 135 f/2.8

I also usually take the DA 40 as a lens cap <g>. I'm hoping to make a
big (for me) lens purchase this summer, and I'm really all over the
board about this. I'm thinking of one of the following options:

1. The DA* 16-50 2.8. A bit heavy, but a very nice walking around
lens. My Tokina 70-200 2.8 by itself weighs only a bit more than the
K10D/DA* 16-50 combination, so I can get some sense of the weight. It
also explains why I don't carry the Tokina.

2. The DA 21 and DA 70. Completes the kit with the 40.

3. Th FA Limited 31 1.8. The FA 20-35 handles this focal length just
fine, but this is such a fine optic and would be such a perfect normal
lens for the K10D. I'm tempted to get it before it goes away. Many
people whose opinions I respect rave about this lens. I'm actually like
just using a normal lens, despite the obvious flexibility of a zoom.

Now, however, I'll have to wait for the DA 17-70 4 to see how it is.
This is a very nice range for a walk- around lens and I'm not bothered
by the f/4 max. This and the FA 135 would be a good travel kit.

Decisions, decisions . . .
