Hello David: I also have a Slik, the model is called Easypod, and its OK for my cameras and not too heavy lenses. But when I use one of the bodies, plus the F* 300 mm. 4.5 or FA* 80-200 mm. 2.8, the monopod I use is a Manfrotto 479-4B + 234 RC head. They are both really sturdy, much more than other monopods I've tried, and do their job really well.
