Cory, I bought two, for my daughter and my son & daughter-in-law. (price was too good @ ~$150 new) Daughter was complaining about the S4 I gave her. She went back to school and brought it back in spring - fuzzy pictures. They were indeed mis-focused. Pentax corrected the problem under warrentee. She took the S4 back during the repair and just kept it. So I now have the S5i...nice camera with extra zoom capabilities. Son and daughter-in-law have had no problems. Batteries are $10-$12 on ebay. (I've got 3.) At $35+$12=$47, you'll not get a better 5 meg P&S, especially for the kids. (Daughter sweet-talked me into a new Casio 7 meg Exlim claiming faster focusing. I couldn't see it, but I know how to pre-focus.) Regards, Bob S.
