After about 300 shots I'd have to say the new sensor is a very substantial
upgrade over the K10D's CCD. The noise reduction is amazing, but the image
quality in bright light at low ISO appears to be considerably better as well
in terms of detail and maybe even dynamic range, although the latter is
difficult to judge. I'd say the K20D is a bigger step up than the K10D was
from the *ist series.
