The remote assistant allows one to operate every aspect of the camera (except Live View) from the computer that the camera is tethered to. When one actutes the shutter from the computer, the camera takes a picture and downloads it to the computer right away, where it is visible on the remote assistant software. If Live View had been integrated into the Remote Assistant software, then the Live View data would be visible in Remote Assistant, which would be nice. As it is only a 1.6mp 20ish FPS data stream, I am sure that the USB bandwidth would accomodate it. It would also be nice if one could press a button on the keyboard to release the shutter rather than having to mouseclick a silly on screen button.
