I just had to buy another drive as my archive system drives (twin 500G) just became full. (I bought a 1T drive, and the two 500s will be striped into a RAID single 1T volume, so my backup archive strategy will remain the same, twin mirrored archives. A 500G capacity is holding about 4 years work at present, I'm hopefully set for the next 3-4 years archiving now.
