I've tried shooting chikadees for some time now. They rarely purch for more 
than a second or two. And when they do, it's frequently on interior branches. I 
finally got a decent shot at one in my last visit to the nature center -- in 
spite of the fact that he was on the interior branches of a pine. Note that 
he's clutching lunch.  It's with the K20D, A 400/5.6 and A2X-S converter at ISO 
1000, f7.1, 1/1500th. I also had the AF 540 flash and Xtender mounted.
