I expect that my 31mm LTD lens will take a better photograph than my old Image brand 28mm lens by a wide margin. It really doesn't matter if the camera is in the hands of a photographer, and enthusiastic amateur or a precocious chimpanzee. Better equipment gives better results. If this wasn't the case, the marketplace would never have evolved past the Kodak X-15 Instamatic.
