can I proffer "superfluous"? ;o)
Seriously I think that the epithets given to most products these days are
purely designed by marketing to tap into consumer perceptions: like adding
GTI or GTE or X to a car name, it's not so much what it stands for (eg. GTI
was supposed to mean Grand Tourer Injection), as I doubt most people are
bothered, it's more how it feels. An S somehow feels more prestigious than a
number in the minds of the consumer... therefore to come back to my original
speculation, I would say "Superfluous"....
Has anybody thought, perhaps, what the MZ might stand for? I would venture
it's very little. As Cecil Kimber once famously said about the M.G. car
brand "the initials M.G. do not stand for anything, they stand for
themselves".
Regards,
