Hey gang,
Well, I've finally gotten the results back from my lure coursing side
trip about a month ago. Unfortunatly some of the pics are still in my
camera (of course, these are the pics of MY whippet) . . .
. . . pics turned out REALLY nice . . . I took them with a off brand
screw mount 300/4 connected to my LX. I wish I had a winder at the time
though, because I proably could have shot a few more good pics if my
freezing fingers hadn't hampered the film winding. (Luckily I have one
on the way from the land down under) . . .
. . . Unfortunatly the last of the lure coursing for this season was
this past weekend, so I'll have to wait till next season to get pictures
of this event again. I'll post pics sometime this week for those
interested. . . If you don't know what lure coursing is, and you like
hound dogs, maybe you should look it up. Basically, it is a LARGE open
field with a few pullies set up at the corners . . . strung out between
the pullies is a long length of string (800 yards if I rremember right)
. . . you attach a motor to one pully, attach a plastic bag or two to
the string, release the hound, light up the motor and AWAY they go!!
It's quite a sight to see, let me tell you! Of course, they only run 3
dogs at a time, adn the rest are going crazy because they want to run
too . . . VERY fun!!
. .. . I'm thinking about setting up a lure course in my backyard
for our whippet . . . could be fun to photograh, and should be easy
enough to set up . . . Anyone in the Northern Illinois area familiar
with setting one of these up?
Anyhow, time to stop rambling . . . oh, I almost forgot, I wanted to
mention I'll be in the market for a Pentax Brand 300/4 sometime in the
next few months, so if you have one you're thinking of selling . . . .
I'd probably look for a 2.8, BUT those probably aren't hand holdable,
and are a bit out of my current price league.
</ramble off>
Later,
Illinois Bill
