On the A* 200/4 Macro, the right (shutter side) knob is an attachment knob, the other one works as both an attachment knob and a tension knob for collar rotation. So the right knob will be firmly screwed in, and the left knob screwed in firmly then backed off a little to allow the collar to rotate. Just unscrew both attachment knobs completely (til they are very loose), then pull the left knob out slightly, then wiggle the collar loose from the lens. The collar will come away below the lens. Oh, be sure to hold support the lens well when removing the tripod collar. BTW, the A* 200/4 Macro collar fits the F* 300/4.5 perfectly (but not vice versa, for reasons I haven't investigated carefully). For some purposes, the 200 collar on the 300 is a better combination because it makes a smaller overall lens. If anyone knows where I can buy a spare collar for the A* 200/4 Macro please let me know. I will try Pentax in Colorado, but I don't expect much from them. -- John Mustarde - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List.
