Here are the dimensions and weights of the 5D against three Pentax DSLR models, sans grip: 5D - 152 x 113 x 75 mm (6 x 4.5 x 3 in) 895g K20D - 142 x 101 x 70 mm (5.6 x 4 x 2.8 in) 800g *ist D - 129 x 95 x 60 mm (5.1 x 3.7 x 2.4 in) 650g *ist DS - 125 x 93 x 66 mm (4.9 x 3.7 x 2.6 in) 605g Makes me wonder how I ever did street photography with my Nikon F3/T + MD-4 motor ... F3/Thp - 148.5 x 101.5 x 69mm (5.8 x 4.0 x 2.7 in.) 760g ... (sans MD-4!). It's a large camera body for sure, but the body isn't *that* much bigger than the current K10D/K20D models. It's the larger lenses required to cover the 24x36mm format with similar field of view that make it a big lump to carry ... I think it's somewhat incongruous for people to complain about the bulk of cameras like the 5D and then whine and moan that they must have a "full frame" Pentax or the world will end. Particularly since everyone is having a yippee day about the fact that Pentax has now delivered on in-lens-servo based AF system, which means larger lenses like the Canon EF series lenses.
