I have a similar impression.

Upon first look, I didn't even notice the head of the woman, - 
my first impression was that somebody (who is rather short) caring all 
those items over her head.
(the need of vertical scrolling just amplified this effect).

Yet another thought: it would've been good if one of the window ads
saying something like "everything must go" were in the frame.
(I wonder what was the beginning of the ad ending with "Everything")
