Something I've been meaning to mention for a while, and that is the that
sound of the LX shutter, or, perhaps more precisely, the sound an LX
makes when the shutter is tripped, is different depending on the lens
attached to the body.

This morning I pulled two LX from the equipment cabinet, one with an
M50/1.4 attached and the other with a K35/3.5 attached. The one with
the 50mm lens had a distinct and loud "sproing" sound when the shutter
was released, and the one with the 35mm lens had a solid-sounding,
slightly muffled, "thunk". I then switched lenses, and the body with
the 50mm, which had the 35mm, and was quieter before, now had that
"sproing" sound.

I've noticed this before, with different lenses on different bodies, and
with all bodies changing the lens sometimes changed the sound the camera
made when the shutter was tripped.

I've not yet looked into this to determine exactly which lenses cause
the body to produce which sound - perhaps K lenses contribute to a
different sound than M or A lenses, or maybe the focal length, size,
weight, or composition of the lenses have something to do with it.

I've noticed this on the newer LXes, with the new shutter design. I've
not checked the older LX yet. Has anyone else experienced this? Any
thoughts as to why this happens?
