Looked at this again just now. It reminds me very much of a set of photographs I saw at the galleries last Thursday, an exhibit of ten prints named "Partial Landscapes" ... Like this, most of the frame was white space and the details of a small portion of the landscape showed (the actual image portion was typically about the size of a 3x5 print in a print that was at least A3 size). The effect of these ten prints was that your brain filled in the rest of the scene ... Against the white gallery walls, they all collaborated to produce quite an unusual and effective, enormous landscape. It is a very neat idea and a quite an unusual way to show a sweeping landscape by using the imagination as the canvas.
